The Hobonichi Techo Weeks 2026 Unsodo: Bijutsukai (Blue Pigeons) Spring is the April-start Weeks edition that combines the compact, practical layout of the Hobonichi Weeks with the refined beauty of Meiji-era Japanese art. The cover design is drawn from selected patterns in the Bijutsukai and Shin Bijutsukai collections.
These historic collections were published by Unsodo, a distinguished Kyoto-based art publisher and the only house in Japan devoted exclusively to producing hand-printed multicolor woodblock books.
The main motif features blue doves, traditionally cherished in Japan as a universal symbol of peace. Abstract patterns reminiscent of flower petals and fruits are combined with traditional elements such as red lattice designs and target motifs, creating a composition that feels both classic and strikingly modern.
The year 2026 is foil-pressed in a subdued gold on the front cover, adding a refined accent to the overall design.
The back cover features a pattern from Shin Bijutsukai. At first glance, it resembles a traditional design of scattered flower petals floating on water, yet it also evokes a more fantastical image: paper wishes dancing across the Tanabata night sky, beneath the Milky Way.
A poetic and elegant Weeks planner, perfect for those who appreciate symbolism, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary design in their everyday planning.
