The Sailor 1911 Realo 18k Clear Black fountain pen was created to deliver an even smoother, longer, and more immersive writing experience, combining the pleasure of Sailor’s large 18k gold nib with a newly developed high-capacity body designed to minimize interruptions during writing.
The new Realo system introduces a high-capacity piston filling mechanism, specifically engineered to increase ink capacity compared to traditional Realo models. The system holds approximately 1.5 ml of ink, allowing for extended writing sessions without worrying about refilling, even when using high-flow nibs such as Zoom or Music, or more absorbent paper that requires greater ink consumption.
According to Sailor, this new structure was designed to transform even the quiet act of filling ink into a more relaxed and enjoyable moment, reducing interruptions caused by frequent refills and helping maintain focus while writing.
The pen is crafted from elegant Clear Black translucent resin, allowing the ink level to remain visible at all times. While preserving the timeless elegance of the Profit collection, the pen introduces a completely redesigned body construction: unlike conventional Realo models, the nib section can be separated from the barrel and mounted directly onto the new high-capacity body.
This feature allows compatible Sailor nib units sharing the same threading standard and dimensions to be installed on the new body, giving users the freedom to pair their favorite Sailor nibs with the enhanced Realo ink system.
It is important to note that compatibility is not universal. The body is not compatible with Slim series models such as the 1911 Standard and Professional Gear Slim, King of Pen models, Special Nib and 1911 Casual L series, nor with certain cartridge-cover models including the Ebonite Sculpture, Kirikane, and Arita 400 Years Anniversary collections.
The pen is completed by a magnificent large 18k gold Sailor nib, handcrafted at Sailor’s Hiroshima factory and appreciated by writing enthusiasts worldwide for its precision, ink control, and the distinctive feedback that has made Sailor famous among fountain pen lovers.
