Platinum Izumo Raden Maki-e Fountain Pen Galaxy

Platinum Izumo born in 2010 with the help of local craftsmen and the cooperation of officials from Izumo City in Shimane Prefecture. The name was chosen to acknowledge the birthplace of the founder Shunichi Nakata.

Made in ebonite, Platinum Izumo Raden Galaxy is divinely decorated with small parts of Abalone shell cut and applied according to precise color schemes that create a "Galaxy" effect on the fountain pen.

After the decoration with Maki-e Raden technique, multiple layers of Urushi lacquer are applied to the fountain pen until arrive to its glossy look. After about 6 months of lacquering, drying, and polishing, Platinum Izumo Raden Galaxy, where countless stars emerge in jet black, is born.

Platinum Izumo is equipped by a "President" 18 KT gold nib and accepts Platinum ink cartridge or Platinum converter (included) for filling the fountain pen via an ink bottle. The wooden box contains also a Kimono pen wrap and a bottle of ink.
