Platinum Procyon Luster Modern Maki-e Fountain Pen Nishikigoi

Platinum Procyon Luster Nishikigoi combines traditional pattern and contemporary style. The modern maki-e design depicts the popular varieties of Nishikigoi carps (Koi) illustrated by Ogata Korin.

Legend has it that carps can transform into a mighty dragon by swimming upstream against the river’s strong current and leaping the “dragon gate”. Therefore, the image of a carp jumping over the gate is considered a symbol of success.

The fountain pen is made of aluminum with a perfect weight balance and features the "Slip & Seal Mechanism" that gives a smooth writing experience at any time by closing the cap with a special inner cap. It is equipped with a pentagon-shaped steel nib, born in 1962, and fills ink via original Platinum cartridge/converter.
