The Platinum 3776 Century Fuji Unkei Unkai is the final chapter of the prestigious Fuji Unkei series, a collection created to celebrate the harmony between Mount Fuji and the clouds drifting around it through refined decorative techniques and sophisticated craftsmanship. Following the acclaimed “Fuji Five Lakes” and “Fuji Shunkei” series, Platinum presents a fountain pen inspired by one of Japan’s most breathtaking natural scenes: the sea of clouds, known in Japanese as “Unkai.”

Inspired by the layers of clouds surrounding Mount Fuji at sunrise, this fountain pen transforms an ethereal landscape into an elegant and dynamic writing instrument. The cap and grip section evoke the colours of Mount Fuji illuminated by the early morning sun during crisp autumn and winter days, while the transparent engraved barrel recreates the flowing formations of clouds through intricate lens-cut facets and carved grooves.

The surface changes appearance depending on light and viewing angle, recalling the shimmering reflections of sunlight across the sea of clouds. The result is a luminous and sophisticated fountain pen with remarkable visual depth and constantly shifting reflections.

As with previous Fuji editions, the dome features a small decorative element inspired by Mount Fuji, the signature detail of the series, while the serial number is engraved on the top of the pen. The Platinum 3776 Century Fuji Unkei Unkai is released as a limited edition of 1,500 pieces worldwide.

The fountain pen is equipped with a rhodium-plated 14k gold nib, designed to provide a smooth, precise, and reliable writing experience. It uses a cartridge/converter filling system, with a Platinum converter included.

The pen comes in a special Unkai presentation box together with a 20 ml bottle of the exclusive Fuji-no-Ebizome ink. This unique colour is inspired by Mount Fuji at twilight, when its slopes take on deep grape-red tones. Depending on the light, the ink reveals reflections shifting from purple to subtle greenish nuances, creating an elegant and ever-changing appearance on paper.

Like all #3776 Century fountain pens, Unkai features Platinum’s renowned Slip & Seal Mechanism, engineered to prevent ink evaporation and keep the pen ready to write even after extended periods of inactivity.
