Sailor King of Pen Kuro-beni Tamenuri is made with an ancient traditional Urushi technique, Kuro-beni, that features reddish black tones. In Japan, it was used as a base color for expensive kosode (short-sleeved kimono) in the early Edo period. Kuro-beni is also cited in the novel "Yorozu no Fumi Hougu" by Ihara Saikaku, a famous writer of the Edo period.
The fountain pen features a minimalist design where you can appreciate the beauty of King of Pen cigar shape. It is made of ebonite and equipped with the beautiful 21k gold nib in King of Pen size. It fills ink via original Sailor cartridge/converter. The artist Koushu Nishihara has hand painted his signature on each barrel.
