When the front reservoir is empty, you simply unscrew the blind cap slightly to open the valve and let ink flow from the rear chamber into the front one; once it is refilled, you screw the blind cap back in to seal the system completely.

This internal architecture provides excellent ink capacity and a controlled flow, while also offering an important advantage for travel. Before flying, you can empty the front reservoir and keep the valve closed to help prevent leaks caused by changes in air pressure.
