The name Kaleido comes from the Greek words "kalos" meaning beautiful and "eidos" meaning form. The pen stands out thanks to its distinctive twelve-sided prism barrel, a design that differs from the traditional cylindrical shape of most fountain pens. The twelve edges symbolize elements of Japanese beauty such as sun rays, cedar trees, and the pillars of traditional architecture.
