Oysters used to be the plankton clinging to reefs or empty shells left by their ancestors around the mid-autumn. They keep filtering the ocean and observing how the moon affects the tides until their hard shells are drilled and shucked by hungry eaters. This is when the oysters devote themselves to extending others' lives.
