Nagasawa Kobe Monogatari Yuhobika Blue is a fountain pen ink inspired by the timeless beauty of Akashi’s landscapes and the refined aesthetic of Japanese culture. The Kobe Ink Monogatari collection was created by the historic Nagasawa Bungu Center, a renowned Japanese stationery store founded in 1882, with the idea of expressing places, stories, and atmospheres through color.

The inks of the Kobe Monogatari series are developed by Nagasawa and produced in Japan, offering smooth writing, rich tones, and beautiful shading that enhance every stroke of the pen.

Yuhobika Blue takes inspiration from the city of Akashi, mentioned in classical works such as the Manyoshu and The Tale of Genji. The name comes from the archaic word “Yuhobika”, used in the “Wakamurasaki” chapter of Genji to describe a calm, gentle, and serene atmosphere.

This shade reflects that feeling through a soft blue with subtle green undertones, evoking the peaceful and luminous scenery of Akashi as it was admired in the past.

The project is enriched by the collaboration with artist Shin Tanaka, a painter and picture book author. His works incorporate sand from the sea of Akashi, blending natural elements such as rocks, shells, and coral to create unique textures and a strong connection with the landscape.
