The Uni-ball ZENTO Signature 3 Color Silver is a sophisticated 0.38 mm water-based rollerball pen combining three writing colors, black, red and blue, within the elegant and minimalist design of the ZENTO Signature. Created for those who use different colors to organize notes, ideas and thoughts, it combines the distinctive ZENTO writing experience with a refined mechanical color selection system.
At the heart of the pen is ZENTO Ink, developed by Mitsubishi Pencil after approximately 6 years of research to provide an exceptionally soft and smooth writing sensation. Its formulation uses POA (Polyoxyalkylene) surfactants as a cushioning component, helping to reduce the resistance felt between the tip and paper. Special particles within the ink also help control feathering and bleed-through.
The most distinctive feature of the Signature 3 Color is its original rotary color selection mechanism. With the cap posted on the back of the pen, simply rotate the central section of the barrel to select one of the three refills and extend the corresponding tip. Particular attention has been paid to the tactile sensation of each color change, providing precise feedback as you switch between black, red and blue.
Despite accommodating three refills inside the barrel, Uni has maintained a relatively slim profile and the understated aesthetics that characterize the ZENTO Signature. This allows the pen to retain a natural grip and elegant appearance without the bulk commonly associated with multi-color pens.
The Signature also retains one of the most recognizable features of the original model: its magnetic cap. Once removed, the cap can be posted onto the back of the pen, completing its shape for writing. Its attachment and removal have been carefully engineered to provide a satisfying tactile sensation, turning the preparation of the pen into a small ritual before writing.
The rotating section also features a knurled finish that provides additional grip when selecting a color, making the mechanism precise and easy to operate.
The Silver version features a refined silver finish that enhances the technical and minimalist character of the Signature. Its 0.38 mm tip produces a particularly fine line, making it ideal for small handwriting, detailed notes, planners and journals. It uses 0.38 mm UBR-ZML-38 ZENTO refills in black, red and blue.
