THOMAS ANG X STILO&STILE
A classical musician by day, Thomas Ang's enthusiasm for nib grinding comes from his interests in calligraphy combined with his own handwriting needs. Working out of London, UK, his favourite grinds cater to fans of finer nib sizes who still want to enjoy some flair and line variation in their writing. He is a newcomer to the international pen show circuit, where he has had the chance to learn from other nib experts and hone his craft.
XS AND S ITALIC
The Italic nib is defined by its flat cut and sharp edges, which create a strong contrast between broad vertical strokes and fine horizontal lines. This distinctive grind gives writing an elegant, calligraphic look, with immediately noticeable line variation.
For Stilo&Stile, Thomas Ang has crafted two rare and refined versions: XS (0.5 mm) and S (0.7 mm). Unlike the wider sizes commonly available, these smaller dimensions make the Italic nib suitable for everyday writing, offering a perfect balance between readability and expressive character.
XS AND S STUB
The Stub nib is designed for those who want line variation without giving up smoothness. Its flat cut, with softer edges than an Italic, produces broader vertical strokes and finer horizontal ones, while ensuring a more fluid glide across the page.
For Stilo&Stile, Thomas Ang has created two unique sizes: XS (0.5 mm) and S (0.7 mm). These reduced dimensions, extremely rare for a Stub, make it ideal for everyday writing: the line variation remains clearly visible, but with a comfort that allows for long, natural writing sessions.
REVERSE ARCHITECT
The Reverse Architect nib takes its name from its dual nature: in regular use it delivers a fine, precise line, while flipped upside down (in reverse writing) it transforms into a true Architect, with broader horizontal strokes and finer vertical ones.
This feature makes it highly versatile: on one side it allows for fine, controlled writing, perfect for everyday use, and on the other it offers the distinctive line variation of an Architect, ideal for adding character and dynamism to your handwriting.
