The Sailor Nawate Kuroginhaku Sei celebrates the radiant side of black through a lustrous glossy finish that gleams like a star against the night sky. Its surface is built from layers of Urushi lacquer brushed in irregular strokes, with kuroginhaku — black silver foil — delicately scattered across it. The result is a shimmering depth that shifts beautifully under changing light, offering expressions impossible to achieve with a uniform lacquer.
This remarkable work is created by lacquer master Toru Yoshida of the Shikko Yoshida atelier, whose fusion of classical Aizu-nuri techniques and contemporary sensibilities has shaped the entire Nawate Haku-chirashi collection. The cap features the signature Nawate vertical striation, a motif that elongates the silhouette and enhances grip during capping and uncapping.
Crafted from ebonite and equipped with a 21k gold nib, the Nawate Kuroginhaku Sei delivers a smooth, precise and highly expressive writing experience. It uses Sailor proprietary cartridges or converter, ensuring consistency and performance at the highest level.
A luminous and refined fountain pen, ideal for those who appreciate the union of traditional Japanese lacquer art and the timeless character of Sailor’s nib craftsmanship.
