The Sailor ProGear Japanese Tea Ceremony Matcha is part of the fifth collection in the Teatime Around the World series, inspired by the Japanese tradition of Cha-no-yu. The tea ceremony, which dates back to the 15th century with Sen no Rikyu, transforms each gesture – from heating the water to whisking the tea – into an act of harmony, beauty, and spirituality. The Matcha color is inspired by finely ground Tencha green tea powder, traditionally whisked with a bamboo Cha-sen. In the Japanese tea ceremony, two styles of tea are prepared: Koicha, thick and full-bodied with a paste-like texture, and Usucha, lighter, more delicate, and frothy. This deep green shade reflects the richness and refinement of this centuries-old tradition, bringing the spirit of matcha to the design of the pen.
