The pen is crafted from a combination of bead blasted anodized aluminium, optical grade acrylic, and 304 stainless steel, with precise weight reduction to ensure a solid yet comfortable feel. The result is a robust, well-balanced fountain pen suitable for extended writing sessions. Inside the cap, a Delrin inner sleeve provides an exceptionally smooth experience when capping, uncapping, and posting the pen.

At the heart of the Monster lies the innovative Kraken Filling System, a revolutionary filling mechanism inspired by mechanical heart valves. Designed by Ben Walsh following research into medical devices, this system differs fundamentally from traditional vacuum fillers. Thanks to precision machining and the use of a quad ring seal, it offers excellent sealing, constant lubrication, and high filling efficiency, allowing an ink capacity of up to 6 ml, even with a single filling stroke.

Writing performance is delivered by a size 8 stainless steel nib with black finish, perfectly matched to the body and paired with an ebonite feed for a smooth, generous, and responsive ink flow. Available nib sizes are Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and Broad.

The section can be fully unscrewed to allow easy cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication of the filling system. Each Gravitas Monster Cherry Velvet is delivered in a zippered carry case for safe storage and transport.
