The Wancher Dream Pen Aizu Urushi Koma-nuri is a Japanese fountain pen crafted using the intricate Koma-nuri Urushi technique, inspired by the spinning motion of a traditional Japanese top (“koma”).
This decorative method involves applying multiple layers of Urushi lacquer—typically black, red, and yellow—in concentric circles. Achieving smooth, even rings demands great skill and patience, and any imperfection often requires starting over from scratch.
Rooted in the historic Aizu region, known for its snowy winters and over 9,000 years of lacquer tradition, Koma-nuri is also believed to bring prosperity and good fortune.
Fitted with a JoWo #6 steel nib, the pen is presented in an elegant wooden box, complete with converter and standard cartridges. A timeless writing instrument that blends art, symbolism, and Japanese heritage.
