The Wancher Dream Pen Zogan Momiji Urushi Aka Tamenuri is a Japanese fountain pen crafted using two of the most refined traditional techniques: the deep, multi-layered Urushi lacquer and the intricate art of Zogan inlay (象嵌).

Inspired by Japan’s iconic Momiji leaves that illuminate the autumn season, this fountain pen features hand-cut mother of pearl inlays embedded into the ebonite body. The shimmering surface reflects light differently from every angle, creating a vivid and elegant visual effect.

The Zogan process requires exceptional skill. Each piece of mother of pearl is precisely shaped into the desired pattern, then the artisan carves the pen body to match that exact silhouette. Multiple layers of shell are carefully inlaid and finished by hand before the final Urushi lacquer is applied.

In the Aka Tamenuri finish, layers of red lacquer create warm color gradations that naturally brighten along the edges, enhancing both depth and dimensionality of the Momiji motif.
